Have you ever seen those Medicare for All t-shirts, signs, or bumper stickers and thought to yourself What the heck is Medicare for All? I’ve got so many questions. Well we’ve got answers!
Medicare for All is the term associated with the bills introduced in Congress to create a universal healthcare system that would guarantee healthcare as a human right to every person living in the U.S. Earlier this month, the Prince George’s County Council became the first in Maryland to unanimously approve a resolution in support of the Medicare for All Act of 2021 (aka H.R.1976) joining cities and counties nationwide demanding universal healthcare.
To celebrate the passage of this resolution, the MD Progressive Healthcare Coalition is hosting a free town hall webinar on Wednesday June 9th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Join us to hear from Congressman Anthony Brown (MD-04) about why he was an original cosponsor of Medicare for All, as well as Pediatrician Dr. Sanjeev Sriram, MD, MPH along with a panel of local community-based activists to discuss the significance of the Prince George’s County resolution and to learn more about how Medicare for All will work for all of us.
And most importantly – the panel will be taking the time to answer the questions YOU send us when you register! The webinar will be centered around your questions, and we will get to as many of them as we can on air.
